Cutting costs doesn’t mean cutting corners
Budget restrictions and demand for cheaper and cheaper community nursing beds has led to an influx of very cheap beds in the marketplace, but are they up to the job?
Current British and European standards demand rigorous testing of a bed’s safety and durability. However, meeting these standards has a cost, therefore buyers should be wary of a deal which is too good to believe.
We have tested a wide range of beds from different manufacturers which are currently being sold as complying with the current standards. What we found is that many manufacturers have clearly paid little attention to the regulations, ignoring even the most basic specification requirements. It is not surprising, therefore, that many of the beds we tested failed when it came to testing their durability and therefore long term safety.
Does your current supplier take conformance seriously? You have nothing to lose by checking and your users have everything to gain.

Lisclare has been supplying nursing beds to equipment loan stores for over 15 years. We know how to build beds which will withstand the rigors of loan store recycling and are robust enough to deliver many years of trouble free service. We also know that you require your beds to be safe and conform to all the current regulations which is why we don’t cut corners when it comes to testing and certification.
All beds from Lisclare are independently tested by the European testing house Berlin Cert GmbH and conform to BS EN 60601-2-52:2010. (Certificates available on request)
