Maximising comfort and minimising pain in pressure area care

This training course is aimed primarily at those providing palliative care, but is applicable to anyone caring for clients at risk of developing pressure ulcers or wounds. Our in-house trainers will take you through techniques and equipment to assist you in the following areas:

  • Providing pressure relief for clients in pain – turning cycles, techniques and specialist equipment
  • Heel protection
  • Caring for plus-size and taller clients
  • Sitting up in bed – how to maintain pressure relief on ischial tuberosities and reduce shear

There will be an opportunity to see the following equipment:

  • emotion in-bed system
  • Cirrus 2.0 pain therapy mattress
  • Silent, static, high performance surfaces (SAM Pro and AREA Zone)
  • Curocell range of alternating systems (including plus-size versions)
  • Curera positioning rolls & cushions

Duration: Half day (lunch and refreshments will be provided)
